The metabolic family is built on incretin receptor agonists, Semaglutide, Tirzepatide and Retatrutide, and on how single, dual and triple agonism is studied in metabolic research.

These are the most researched peptides in the modern catalogue. They imitate the body's own gut hormones, and the difference between compounds comes down to how many incretin receptors a single molecule engages.

The incretin system

Incretins are hormones released by the gut after eating. The two central ones are GLP-1 (glucagon-like peptide-1) and GIP (glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide). Together they help govern blood-sugar regulation and appetite signalling. An incretin agonist is a peptide engineered to activate those same receptors, which is why this family is studied so heavily in metabolic models.
